Being able to run your scanner without a USB cable is a nice perk, especially if the scanning speed isn’t any slower.
Wi-Fi: Just a few years ago, Wi-Fi was a rarity in portable document scanners.Ideally, a good scanner accurately recognizes every character, but realistically we expect a success rate of above 90%. The best portable document scanners can also export the text as an editable document, either in DOC, RTF, or TXT format. OCR: A good portable document scanner should be able to accurately recognize printed text via optical character recognition, or OCR, and turn it into a searchable PDF.
The hardware interface needs to be easy to navigate, and the desktop and mobile software should be powerful enough to get the job done but not so complex that it gets in your way when you’re working under pressure.

For instance, our mfps surge protector shuts down the machine if it breaks threshold (125-115v). My office has some unique power issues now and then. Like this one for instance: If it came with or I could pair it with some kind of good (free?) software to OCR business cards. I should be able to hand it off to whomever needs it (no hefty licensing cost per user).
So, is that it? Are there other decent business card focused scanners, or am I left to finding a portable document scanner? The idea is out of the box it can integrate with Outlook and OCR business cards. : More of a document scanner than business card, software had pretty bad OCR (didn't try scanner) Neatdesk seems to have stopped making their physical scanner. I need to find a business card scanner that's portable. I would just need software with good OCR.
Edit: What would be good for mass importing a ton of business cards? I figure any decent flatbed scanner (off a MFP).
